You are such a dikya. You jelly? Fish?

You might still remember the time when Anne Curtis got stung by a jelly fish and Twitter haters had a party on social media. Netizens lambasted the actress, with some even proclaiming that she deserved what could have been a fatal incident. Jasmine Curtis-Smith defended her sister against the nasty comments.

The Dyesebel star’s condition stabilized afterwards. According to her doctor, Wency Kiat, she recuperated well. The hospitalization happened after Anne got stung by a box jellyfish while taping for “Dyesebel.”

But what did the Twitter universe say?

“Seriously, I don’t feel bad for Anne Curtis. I think she deserves what the jellyfishes did to her,” one posted.

Another asked, “Kaya ba nakagat ng mga jellyfish si Anne Curtis ay dahil sa KARMA?”

Jasmine aired her disappointment over the remarks via Twitter.

“It hurts me to see some saying that she deserved this when no one deserves to be in risk in terms of health,” she tweeted. “How could anyone wish this upon another?”

Erwan Heusaff, Anne’s boyfriend, also took to Twitter to hit on her girlfriend’s critics.

“For all of you idiots making fish jokes. The box jelly fish is one of the deadliest animals on earth,” he posted, noting how those people seem “judgmental.”

The alleged bar incident involving the actress some months ago by posting, “So Anne Curtis was stung by a jellyfish. I guess now she knows how it feels to be slapped.”

More recently, Jasmine got star billing in the gossip mills when an audio recording linked her with Daniel Padilla. It was Anne’s turn to defend her kid sister after a shitstorm of bashers flooded social media. Oh Twitter, what have you made us do? Oh Facebook, look at what is happening with our lives now that you are always there.

A viral audio recoding of Padilla’s voice surfaced, and if you’d want to connect the dots then you would push the conclusion that there might be something more between them. Jasmine said she and Daniel became friends while they were filming the movie Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo.

She said that Daniel sent her a friendly text message when she was feeling down when her father was in the hospital.

“He (Daniel) texted me to ask about my dad. All our conversations revolved around how my father was doing, kumusta ‘yung operation niya (how his operation went). Iyon (There), that’s where it ended,” she said.

“Really, everything revolved as if we were friends. I thought nothing else of it. Nothing was meant from the texts, aside from concern, because they saw how fragile I was regarding my dad and his health.”

She said that when the audio recording surfaced, she could not really understand the conversation, because it was muffled. It’s up to the people to assume what they wanted since she and Daniel are just friends. So showbiz.
